Fall 09 Semester

We will have 13 Short-Term Exchange Students from 7 countries (China, France, Georgia, Germany, Indonesia, Korea, Poland) and 4 Local-Semester Students from Korea for Fall 09 Semester.

New students were officially matriculated to the program at HUE during the opening ceremony, which was held in the library on campus.

Chance, Chance, Chance!

HUE Baseball team made it to the national championship games in Tokyo again this year, and the university organized a "cheering bus trip" to Tokyo for the students.
13 international exchange students joined the tour to cheer for the HUE baseball team.

After riding on the bus for more than 11 hours, we arrived to Tokyo Dome.

Carp, Carp, Hiroshima....

We went to see the baseball game (Carps vs. Giants) in the newly-built Mazda Stadium. The stadium was almost full (except for the Giants section), and about 25 of us went together to cheer for the Carps.



Unfortunately, we lost the game, but everyone enjoyed the game, cheering and the new stadium. Hopefully we'll come back for a winning game sometime :)





We did the baloons after the 7th inning, too!

Quiz of the World

HUE had a stage during the Flower Festival, and the International Office and STEP students hosted a game show on May 3.




Volunteers from the audience tried to guess the answer to the questions STEP students prepared. They were questions about the country each student is from - such as "which flag is Poland?"



At the end, six winners took home a prize (book coupons).

Tea Ceremony in Shukkeien Garden

Tea Ceremony for International Exchange Students was held in Seifukan Tea House in Shukkeien Garden, Hiroshima.
Girls tried on kimonos for the first time, for tea ceremony, and all of us had a great privilege to enjoy tea ceremony with a beautiful spring view of the garden.






Ito sensei, our tea master, prepared tea for us and explained in details about tea items as well as the history of tea ceremony and manners.

Welcome Party for International Students!

Welcome party for International students was held at LIVRE on campus.
International students, university professors and staff members, as well as Japanese students enjoyed the food, drinks and talk at the party.

Spring 2009 Semester

Spring 2009 semester started on April 13, with 16 students from China, France, Germany, Indonesia, Korea, Mexico, Poland, and Portugal.
